Buenos Aires, 2008. After thirty-three years in Italy, Mariano Guerra returns to Argentina to testify at the trial of the former military officers who kidnapped him, tortured him and enslaved him during the military dictatorship. Along with other survivors, he is accommodated in the Ministry of Justice’s guest quarters, where he reunites with people who shared his captivity and awaits the day of his testimony.
The days spent with the other witnesses, the encounters and the testimonies bring back to light stories that have remained unresolved for decades. Mariano is one of the few survivors of that tragedy, carrying a burden that no court ruling can ease. His return to Buenos Aires forces him to confront what it means to have survived.
